We'll See...

accept the laughter.. accept the tears.. neither endures.. neither sustains.. life is a mirage.. with moments like 'shifting' sand dunes.. determining our perceptions.. in wind-logged time..

It is only when we 'connect the dots' as we look back on life that we realize how every incident holds it's own import.. paving the path our lives are taking.. 'misfortunes' transforming into 'medals' that we proudly hold up for anyone to see.. making our achievements that much sweeter and possible..

fearing our 'good luck' as fleeting.. unable ever to take the 'bad luck' in the same spirit.. we condense our lives into a handful of scared moments.. instead of simply moments felt.. lived.. accepting 'change' as the essence of 'life'..

whatever is in store, cannot be changed.. not by tears.. curses.. depression.. or fears.. it can only be borne.. with strength.. and a wry candid acceptance.. if this whole world is an extension of our own thoughts.. then maybe it's time we realized.. our 'thoughts' at least.. are definitely in our hands..




There is a Taoist story of an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit.

"Such bad luck," they said sympathetically.

"We'll see," the farmer replied.

The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses.
"How wonderful," the neighbors exclaimed.

"We'll see," replied the old man.

The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.

"We'll see," answered the farmer.

The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.

"We'll see" said the farmer.
