The night sky ensured streetlights dived stiff as sentinels deep into the sea.. the novices twisting and turning at their posts.. hiding a city glimpsed through the unguarded spaces in the sea.. some vainly try to spread out across the sky.. under the command of the egg-head moon, some break out pooling as islands of the guard.. the wind tries to break their ranks.. inciting warning shots into the windows high above.. the rooster calls out their shift change.. as the sky lightens up to put them at ease.. and the fog rushes in to hug them lovingly to itself..
