An article made Headlines.. about a woman who committed suicide because of 'mental torture' by her husband who repeatedly taunted her about her dark complexion.. and the man was sentenced to two years imprisonment.. emotional trauma is something that always goes unnoticed in our System.. maybe because the 'harm' is unobtrusive.. even the 'drastic' outcome usually remains ignored.. in what aspect of our lives is this not happening.. whether at school level.. as peer pressure.. or cruel criticism and labeling by teachers.. even the academic pressures.. at work.. by colleagues.. bosses.. as parents.. as in-laws.. as guardians.. all positions speaking of 'defenselessness' in one form or another.. it's sad that all 'sacred' relationships bear the 'label' of trauma.. whether child, student, relative or spouse.. and heartening to see this 'acknowledgment' at last.. of the 'unseen'.. for abuse and exploitation don't always wear a 'physical' garb.. and innocence cries silently at the milling crowds rushing in peaceful oblivion..
Happy new year
