Architecture

Digg this

“The Geometry of Wright”, aims at exploring and building evidence and continuation of the geometric heritage of Wright’s prolific practice to his influence on practitioners today. The quality of Architecture is left to interpretation, but geometry is different. Since mathematics is present in all of physics, and letters are the foundation of words, geometry must be found in architecture. As we respond to architecture with emotion, the mathematics of geometry appeals to our intellect. It is about relationships and the search for absolute truth just as the architect searches with relationships for absolute beauty

“The Geometry of Wright”, seeks to build grounds for carrying on the geometric legacy of Wright’s adeptly nuanced applications and his effect on current and succeeding architects. The value of Architecture might hinge on personal versions, but geometry remains unique. Like physics cannot exist without maths, and words without letters, it is impossible to perceive architecture without geometry. The beauty of Architecture attracts our emotions, but the maths in geometry woos our minds. Building a kinship and seeking the ultimate truth an architect merges the two towards divine creation enabling them to create harmony within the organic world with man-made constructs.

Currently, when the world is looking for sustenance in life, we need to espouse the imperative vision of  Laurie Baker towards building and architecture. His use of cheap, affordable, classic modes in design would facilitate greatly towards this purpose.

In these times, where the world is looking for sustainable existence, Laurie Baker’s approach to construction and architecture is what we need to adopt. His way of building inexpensive, cost effective, traditional style of design would be of great help in this direction.

Geometry enables architects to create harmony within the organic world with man-made constructs.
