Historic tales become adventurously wondrous paths that 'reach home' to all.. hiding tiny impressions that help us enjoy the 'way'.. subtly honing awareness towards the 'choices' we make.. Ms.Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's The Palace of Illusions is one such sensitive and insightful attempt to capture the hidden nuances of karmic cycles unfolding in fatalistic ways towards paths of our choices.. we are indeed grateful to her for bringing alive the major characters of Mahabharata, an epic tale hard to understand or decipher.. mostly remembered for it's 'Gita' Path or the 'War of Kurukshetra'.. yet through just one character Draupadi.. that too a woman from a story that focuses on 100 Kauravas and 5 Pandava sons.. she helps us empathize with life and humanity.. enmeshing her tale on the canvas of reality..
