face-off

Digg this

In the televised 'face off' between Mr.Salman Khan and TOI.. one thing that came out real strong was the pain media could cause to our families.. even though the journalistic panel would not accept the onus towards the outcome of their articles, Mr.Khan aired very valid constraints towards the responsibilities of the media.. and the power of the pen..

Yes, they need to 'report'.. yes we can't do without them because they are the ones that bring the world home to us.. Mr.Khan raised a question seriously pertinent to the media of today.. is it a personal vendetta.. no, of course not.. is it about perks per article.. no of course it isn't.. is it about internal competition.. (hesitant) nothing like that.. then what is it.. external competition.. targets.. a legal destruction.. an eye-opener that has turned into a wink..

One lady journalist did accept the feeling of satisfaction at 'nailing' someone.. that was honest.. and nothing wrong with it.. for we all need work-satisfaction.. and we all have our jobs to do.. whether it is at a hanging or electric chair.. sweeping toilets or cleaning drains.. but what of the 'responsibility' for our actions.. where we CAN make a difference..
